Breathtaking Columbia Gorge Views at Celilo Inn


As a wedding photographer, few places inspire awe quite like the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge. Recently, I had the incredible honor of photographing a beautiful wedding at the Celilo Inn—a true hidden gem nestled right along the cliffs with sweeping views of the mighty Columbia River. This celebration perfectly showcased how nature’s grandeur and heartfelt moments come together to create memories that last a lifetime.

Perched on the edge of the Gorge, Celilo Inn offers an intimate atmosphere with panoramic views of the river below and lush landscapes surrounding it. From the campy, vintage motel vibes of the Inn to the expansive outdoors, every corner of the venue exudes natural beauty.

The couple chose this location not only for its stunning vistas but also for the serene ambiance that allowed their love story to shine against a truly majestic backdrop.


A Day Filled with Emotion and Elegance

The day began with soft anticipation as the bride and groom prepared in separate suites overlooking the Gorge. Capturing the quiet moments—the bride’s delicate details, the groom’s calm smile, the nerves turning into joy—was a wonderful prelude to the day ahead.

The ceremony was held outdoors on a cliffside, where family and friends gathered surrounded by nature's artwork. Vows were exchanged beneath an elegant floral arch framing Mt. Hood and the sky beyond.


Artistry Through the Lens

Photographing at Celilo Inn allows the opportunity to blend portraiture with landscape photography seamlessly. Some of my favorite shots from the day were of the couple standing hand-in-hand on the edge of the property, with the vast expanse of the Columbia River Gorge and incredible golden hour stretching out behind them. The contrast between the intimate closeness of the couple and the colossal beauty of nature symbolizes the powerful yet personal nature of love itself.

The reception, held inside a tent on the grounds, featured floral decor that complemented the surroundings perfectly. Candid moments of laughter, toasts, and dancing lit up the space, and I made sure to capture those genuine expressions and spontaneous celebrations.
