Maternity Photos on the Oregon Coast


This has to be one of my favorite Oregon coast sessions!

We were really racing the clock to get these done. Sanmaya reached out a week before Christmas to inquire about getting photos done. She let me know she was due the first week of January and if I'm being honest, I panicked a little bit. The inspiration photos she sent were all dreamy, golden hour sunset with tall Summer/Fall grasses.

The problem was, at that time, we hadn't even seen the sun in five days and just through flooding rains. Also, those grasses get cut down before rainy season begins.

I started brainstorming and sending galleries from different locations. We decided on Cannon Beach due to its tall coastal grasses and, if you get lucky, epic winter sunsets. We had to plan around the weather and be ready to go whenever we got a decent day. The stars aligned the Tuesday before Christmas and we decided to meet up.

It ended up being a mild day, no wind, no crowds (which is a miracle at Cannon), and a pretty, pastel sunset.

Sanmaya and her husband have since welcomed their baby girl and I just know they are going to be the best parents!
